Description
The colourful facades and wrought iron balconies of old Lisbon are a perfect backdrop for any photographer. Ancient streetlamps cast long shadows over the cobblestone streets as the sun dips behind buildings that have occupied the same spot for a very long time. The Bairro Alto area, seen here decorated for Fiesta season, sits high on the hill overlooking the main arteries of the city. It is always a pleasant place to stroll, either during the sleepy daylight hours when the heat slows everything down to a snails pace and the tram tracks of the Elevador da Bica sit empty waiting for passengers or under the spell of darkness when the clubs, restaurants and cafes come to life with residents and visitors dressed in their finest party attire. I blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this image.
