The light that radiates forth from nature is a living presence. It brings our awareness to the original essence that created this universe.
The sparkling presence of this work reminds us of the beautifully colored medieval manuscripts, called illuminations, that described the heavenly worlds. Mountain Tree Illumination shows us heaven on earth, where the eternal light brightens, or illuminates, the world around us.
Joel created this magical illuminated scene in his signature neo-impressionist style, to express the radiant living light shining from earth, trees, and sky.
In late autumn, from a hiking trail in the mountains of Hall Ranch, just west of Lyons, Colorado, we see a rugged pine tree expressing its uniquely beautiful shape, as the light of the twilight sky sparkles upon everything.
